Soriku is one of several local-first tools built by Atypisch. Same team, same philosophy: software that runs on your hardware, data that stays there, and a bill you only get for the hosted side.
Why we built it
Local AI was getting good fast, but using it well meant juggling models, scripts, and a lot of guesswork about which one to pick for which task. We wanted an orchestration layer that did the picking for us in a way that was measured, transparent, and respectful of the local-first ethos that drew us to Ollama in the first place.
Why local-first
Because your prompts shouldn't have to leave your laptop for someone else to read. Because the EU AI Act is going to get serious. Because vendor lock-in is a tax. And because, frankly, local models are now good enough for most of what we ask AI to do, once you know which one to ask.
Why the engine will be open source
Orchestration is a coordination problem, not a moat. The value sits in the capability map, the routing decisions, and the agents you build on top, not in the engine itself, which is why we intend to open the source once it's ready: so it can be audited, forked, and trusted. For now the desktop app is free to run on your own hardware, and we charge for hosting and collaboration, not for code.
